Re: Dick Smith. Another Large Retailer fail on TM

I've been a customer for years (always in store, never on line). It's been obvious for some time things were unravelling, and when I brought a $900 laptop just before Christmas for $369 (old stock, but still a good laptop) it couldn't continue. Been in the store yesterday and shelves looking very de...

Re: trade me wrong again

Phil from scambusters is NOT from scambusters.

It's incredibly easy to forge most details on emails. The one detail not easy to hide is the ip address the email was sent from (except for gmail emails). Reveal the email headers and inspect.

Re: Microsoft - Again!!

For some unknown reason Microsoft are against turning off the spying. I can see why, they intend to sell you, the user, as their product. The blogishere is alive with comments that Microsoft are just doing what Google does. My feeling is an operating system is immensely different to a search engine....

Thanks Digidog.

The first "service pack" has been issued, and has caused endless loop/crashes for a few. If it happens to you, you don't care if it's rare!

Windows 10 cumulative update causes 'reboot loop' havoc for some users

Re: Microsoft - Again!!

If you're concerned about the spyware that is Windows 10, and you didn't take the trouble to go through all the screens and set up when you installed (and apparently there are other privacy things not covered by the set up) then there is good news. Stop Windows 10 spying dead in its tracks with one ...

Re: ANZ Phishing Email

When the address devolves to http://chuckscroggs.com it's pretty obvious to the wary that this is bogus. However, there are plenty of inexperienced or people that don't check who could be caught. The site is now being flagged as a Web Forgery in Firefox. Chuck Scroggs site runs Apache web server Joo...

A Biggie For Repressive Regimes

Italian surveillance-ware maker Hacking Team has been cracked, with a substantial 400 gigabytes of its internal data pillaged and leaked online, it appears. The plunder has been uploaded to BitTorrent in a mighty listing of directories, allegedly including audio recordings, emails, and source code....
