There are a lot of email hoaxes, some of which have been kicking around for
years. There's the sick kid who wants to get into the Guiness book of Records
by attracting the most emails... and Bill Gates offering everyone who forwards
an email $5,000. You know the type.

So before you forward any email to everyone in your address book, check out

One of the ones that annoy me the most is the one which warns you that one of your files is a virus (it isn't!).

One of my friends in Upper Hutt, who had only recently purchased a computer and begun to surf the internet was sent of of these fake warnings. He deleted the file before I got a got to advise him to disregard the "warning".

Another person, a woman in the Wairarapa, recieved the same "warning" - but I managed to contact her just in time.

Whoever created these hoax "warnings" is a pig.

The Irish virus is much more interesting...
Greetings, You have just received the "IRISH VIRUS".

Since we aren't so technologically advanced in Ireland, this is a MANUAL
virus. Please delete all the files on your hard drive and forward this virus
to everyone on your mailing list.

That'd be grand.

Tanx!
