Re: Another dodgy trader now disabled "Hair extension produ
Unfortunately I am a victim of this woman who is/was trading from the store located in Maroochydore. I had the same thing happen to me, purchased $350 of 'real human hair' tape extensions and they were applied in store. Within a few days a few started to slip out, within 7 days i had to go see a hair dresser locally(keep in mind i live 2000kms from Maroochydore) to have the whole lot re-applied. Thats when we discovered the hair to be of extreme poor quality. Had an extremely long conversation over the phone with her, where she tried to blame me for it 'falling out within a week', in the end she hung up on me and turned her business phone off for the rest of the afternoon. In about 2 weeks time I went back with my boyfriend, demanded to have the money refunded in the next 7 days(which was yesterday) or else a solicitor will be seeing her. Demanded to see her registration of a business name certificate and health and safety certifacte with which she could not show. Left her on the brink of tears and shaking, and funnily enough by the next day she had cleaned out her shop. Her business number keeps ringing out, and the only way to contact her is through her facebook site where she has started to do her 'mobile' business from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold coast. Ive reported her to the Fair trading and ScamWatch - What else can I do?!

Hi Rach, I'd contact your local Police Station as well. It would seem that she's still selling dodgy hair extensions in a fraudulent manner. The lack of business and health certification is probably illegal in Oz. And there's a good chance that she's not declaring income for tax, so for good measure I'd call the IRD as well. Go for it!

That I will do. Left her a message on her Facebook page asking where my money was, and all she could say was 'I have never heard of you'!
Re: Another dodgy trader now disabled "Hair extension produ
Hi there
This is Amanda Spence, firstly I would just like to say You all have one side of the story and not that it is going to make much difference seeing as banding together to destroy someone bought all these people together there is always two sides to every story and this is mine.
First of all, all of this trademe stuff happened years ago. Yes mistakes were made, I was 18 years old dropped out of school with a premature baby. I purchased hair extensions myself and fell in love with them I searched the internet and found I could purchase hair extensions cheaper from trade me and then I found I could get them even cheaper from Hong Kong.
Then of course the idea came, to provide the hair extensions to others at cheaper prices then they were currently being sold for. I sold on average 10-12 sets per day, sometimes the orders came in faster then the hair came in however everyone always received their product. I tested a huge amount of suppliers - always on selling the product. YES I did not test all of them and that is my fault. Like I said sometimes the orders would come in faster then the product, so I sent them out.If you do your research you will find HUNDREDS of positive feedback from happy people.I supplied hair directly to Hairdressers in my area and I had approx 5 people who sold the extensions which they purchased cheaper from me. Effectivly I was their supplier, they sold products, bought the product from me cheaper and made a bit of extra cash.
Make NO mistake! Every single order was sent out and received. NOONE was EVER out of pocket. We had 5 books full of hundreds of orders, each with a tracking number asigned to it. 4 tracking numbers out of hundreds were untrackable on the post system.
So out of HUNDREDS, over the space of 3 years, a few people were unhappy and for a variety of reasons. Some would say the extensions were not of good quality, others would say they didnt get anything. NONE, contact me to ask for a resolution, instead they went to trade me and just directly to each other, as admitted on this forum. I was NEVER given the opportunity to provide a positive resolution for my failure to maintain client satisfaction. Upon hearing of everyone’s concerns, which was SHOCKING!, I contacted each person and provided them with a set of quality hair extensions, these were even sent in the police officers presence as he was aware of my intentions to rectify the situation and the fact that some of these women claimed to have not received the first package.
Every item sent out was new bonding’s, please note this is 100% human hair – it has been grown on someone else’s head and is technically automatically second hand. The attachments had never been used.
I had a passion for enhancing beauty with hair extensions. My own hair does not grow well, as you know everyone’s hair is different. I continue to wear hair extensions, and I have a supplier who is located in Melbourne, instead of hong kong. People wanted to know where I was getting my hair extensions from, so I trained in the application method in Brisbane and opened an official salon - Which is Tax and Gst registered. We also employ staff who are well aware of this history.
Rachel - I myself have not actually been into the Maroochydore salon for 2 months as I am away for business reasons. You have in fact been speaking with someone else, so please do not go around spreading more untruthfulness about me. Your hair extensions have been sent back to our supplier who has agreed that there was a fault during the production process, and you are being given the choice of a refund or replacements.
We are currently expanding into a bigger premises which is under construction and we are opening a new salon in Perth.
Our Hair Extensions have a 100% Money back guarantee.
With all services, we provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
We also give free 7 day and 4 weekly check ups where if any extensions have come loose, we reattach them at no extra cost in all other salons, this is the clients cost.
We provide the full range of services on the hair extensions, so they will always be kept in perfect condition. It is essential that you attend your 7 day check up appointment, as during the first 7 days it is very common for a coupleof extensions to slip out. This is because the hair is fresh in and there may be residue oils from the scalp. Also the person attaching the extensions is not aware of your daily routine and it is common for a few extensions needing to be removed and reapplied in a different spot due to visibility
I love the industry I am in, however I am disappointed with this type of modern day witch hunt this forum provides.
I have never scammed anyone.
I never intend to.
It saddens me greatly that lies can be spread about as gospel behind the anonymity of the internet.
I don’t expect anything out of this post, however I do know I will be hit back with the wrath of your hatred as it seems this forum is about nothing more than to destroy me right down to the core.
I know you are coming from a place where you have their best interests at heart however I don’t know what you expect out of giving advice to someone to contact the tax department – the information is readily available online – that is how Rachel was able to find this post in the first place. You see, anytime someone looks up my tax information using my business name, you are given ALL the information you need, this includes but is not limited to my soliciters details, accountant details, business registration details, gst details, my personal information including my home address and shop addresses. You see I have nothing to hide. It also gives you the business owners name, which you are able to google and straight away this forum pops up.
You have also made a statement that I am “still selling dodgy hair extensions in a fraudulent
manner.” – Please explain what has been done in a fraudulent manner towards Rachel. She came into our store, had a set of extensions applied in store. She was happy with the service and happy with the product as before leaving the store, she paid for the item. 7 days later, she contacts the store and tells someone of the issue. She is told to come in for her 7 day check-up and we will fix it for her we even extended the time. She refuses to come in for the check up – (with obvious good reason as she has left Maroochydore and is not able to come back in within 7 days.) She then comes into the store weeks later, leaves the hair to be sent back to the supplier for fault. This can take up to 4 weeks. As It needs to be sent to them, they need to check it over and possibly send it back to their supplier. She is aware of this. It is noted in our terms and conditions of which she received a copy and of which is available to view on our website.
Our supplier has agreed that there is a fault in the hair extensions, they are malting. This can be caused by the hair not being attached properly to the bond point at the time of manufacture. It can also be caused by brushing the hair when wet as it stretches the cuticle which has no natural nutrients, it can also be caused by using shampoos and conditioners with protein or alcohol in them as these can cause the hair to snap - as with natural hair. - There was traces of both protein product and alcohol product on the hair however we have agreed to replace the hair, or refund the hair directly as a measure of goodwill. Obviously the client didnt intend on ruining the hair and is not being blamed at all.
Please help me out by explaining what is fraudulent here. I think it is from being misguided from what has been posted in the past and a lack of information on the subject.
To perhaps guide someone in the future as to what to do if they have an issue with a business and they are unable to rectify it together- they should get in contact with the office of fair trade in their area and they will work with both sides to gain a resolution.
And Rachel your desire to fuel fire is charming. This is the factual messages exchanged on facebook.
“If you have any issues you can email info@dollfacehair.com
I have never heard of you,
Thanks
That is a bit more then “ I have never heard of you”, and was actually not posted by me! You see your misleading post is what causes this sort of thing to get out of hand.
You have also neglected to post that you called the salon after this post and spoke directly with someone regarding your hair extensions and refused to give your email address or bank details for a refund. We log EVERYTHING.
Please don't make something difficult when it is so easy to sort out. You should not have been put in the position of receiving a faulty product in the first place however it does happen which is why there is systems in place in every business to fix it. The same goes if you buy a faulty tv, you need to return it and they will refund or replace it. If you expect a refund you need to provide the details needed in order to get a refund.
