... "Have you heard of Peter Vink?" And they just blanky shook their heads. Which made me wonder if he ever submitted work for competitions. Many legit successful artists enter competitions.
Some months ago there was a TV piece about an NZ artist on a documentary. A maori chap I think. He had sold works around his immediate area,and some overseas. He has painted alot of pictures and they even filmed him painting. Appraisel by overseas artists agreed he had talent, and valued his pictures at NZ$5000-$10,000.
However, NZ galleries refused to show his work and NZ valuers gave his work a value of maybe $200, as he did not play ball with the structure of the local art community.
Does anyone know who this person is? I had the program videoed but it got overwritten.
