I am led to believe that she placed an advert looking for work in a local newspaper. Apparently he replied to her advert and employed her. The policeman believes she acted in good faith and is telling the truth. Also she was apparently very helpful from very early on when she apparently started to get suspcious giving them any/all information to help apprehend/charge the supplier.

RE: Update

Well most traders (I think most of them) have received part products that are used/crappy and not what they ordered or paid for. I'm only communicating with 9 of them.
When traders have asked Obsession Hair to refund or questions the goods received Obsession Hair say "deal with Marena Guise" as you purchased off her. Guise isn't responding to any emails, just ignoring people. Police will contact her tomorrow and suggest she tries to either pay traders back part payments and/or start responding to people as traders are getting very angry and unhappy. Apparently TM Investigations had told individual traders not to contact other traders. TM was unhappy that the traders involved managed to sight other traders email addresses (:-). Most likely outcome is that each trader will need to DT Guise unless she coughs up and tries to return our funds. I wonder if we can go for Visser also? Obsession Hair (Vissor) sent out a vanilla letter with part of the product they sent to each trader saying that we have received a free voucher number for $20. They say if you use it when you order online then you get $20 free products. The number which they say is unique - is the same and on ALL the letters they sent to traders. Also with their hair extension training courses they ask for around $4700 for the most expensive and say pay %50 now and then the balance of %50 to be paid 2 weeks before training commences. (Scams waiting to happen)
This outfit needs shutting down, but it's still up & running.
Police are getting in contact with commerce commission. I'm told the prosecutor is looking into this case against Vissor but it doesn't look like intent comes into it now that Visser is getting out products to traders despit the products being second hand or crap. Police thought we may be able to look at Visser/Guise as they did in effect - work together. EG. Trader gives Guise money, Guise banks into her account then transfers into Vissors account. Interesting ....

Interesting as I've been collating information/emails from other traders. Obsession hair told one trader they would issue a refund ONLY if they changed their feedback on TM from negative and not before. They said if the feedback isn't changed they won't refund! Also when the trader said they'd be speaking with the manager the next day the reply email said "You will not be speaking with the manager". Another email the trader says she only received 87 extensions instead of 100 and the reply said we sent you the full amount if you decided to keep 13 of them for yourself then that's up to your discretion. (As she was returning the product). Unbelieveable - this is the most unprofessional I've seen them in emails to date.

I just realised I must have registered on here twice. "Duh".
My kranch email isn't valid - can we delete that log in and leave kat1? I don't want to delete the posts though is it possible to keep them as Kat1? Sorry if I've caused any confusion on here.

Hi peopleeater and welcome to ScamBusters. If you read through this
thread carefully I think you'll find the evidence against seductivehair is
pretty overwhelming. There's this statement from TM's investigation unit.
TradeMe wrote:I have been liaising with Constable Aaron Drayson of the Putaruru Police who
can confirm Macolm and Marena’s supplier are known to Police for dishonesty
offences
So far you are the only person to say anything positive about this company.
While I'm pleased that you've had a good experience with them, you'll have
to concede that a lot of buyers have been ripped off here.

The main focus of this site is to expose scammers and to obtain justice for
victims wherever possible. From an impartial perspective I'd have to say that
the folks behind seductivehair are looking very dodgy indeed.

Yes but where is the factual information that Seductive Hair

Post by peopleeater » Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:59 pm

is the dodgy supplier. All I have read is that they are refering to Marinas dodgy supplier. What is Marina doing selling goods she does not have in her posession. It seems to me that Marina can say anything she likes and blame it on the suppliers. Is it known that Marina even paid the money to the suppliers or did she keep it herself and claim she bought it from Seductive Hair. This is reflected in the feedback where people are getting items that are second hand. I know that Seductive Hair sell second hand goods to people who request it. How is it certain that Marina did not purchase the second hand goods and sell them on and then claim to her customers that she purchased new products. This all seems to weird considering my experience with Seductive Hair

I take your point. However the fact that Constable Drayson of the Putaruru
Police confirms that the owners of seductivehair are being investigated and
have previous convictions for fraud tends to lend weight to the argument
that they're the likely guilty party here.

I agree that Marena bears some responsibility for the mess she's found
herself in and that the affected traders must seek compensation from her.

See the Feb 1st post from kranch on the last page.

It's possible that he hasn't been convicted yet as these cases tend to drag
on for many months.

thats how I found their site:

Personally I think they are great and I refuse to believe that this is the suppliers fault. Marina should not have been selling products she didnt have I am sure Seductive Hair however they can from my experience.

Good luck to all involved I hope you get your products.

I wish the supplier was ethical

Post by Kat1 » Thu Mar 06, 2008 7:02 am

but unfortunately not so. Many traders have lost their money and either not received products or the products are not what they ordered or they are second hand (used items) that the buyers paid money for suppose to be new. Visser is a clown - unprofessional known legal history for this type of thing - it's only a matter of time before he's shut down. Lots of alias names used - and they are not prepared to do the right thing and exchange money paid for return of goods. Guise was also taken to the cleaners by Visser but she'll have her day in Court. Peopleeater for you to come in here and read this should be enough of a warning. If your dealings to date have been clean "good for you". Take my word of advice though - I'd think very seriously before parting with my money with those people EVER again. I thank scambusters for being here so we can alert others of dodgy deals and traders.
